The 12 Series

KMI is a series of bodywork sessions in which the main goal is to establish ease in the body. This is achieved by balancing the relationship of compression and tension in the body by working on layers of the connective tissue called fascia.

Due to overuse or misuse, we develop restrictions along these lines that can cause postural distortions and contribute to patterns of pain.

Each session is aimed at working with one continous 'train' or line of fascia, to reorganize it along its line of force so that it is able to efficiently slide and glide with ease.

The KMI series has twelve (12) different and progressive sessions. The first four (4) sessions are more superficial, meaning that the intent is to work with the superficial or 'sleeve' layers of fascia. The middle four (4) engage the 'core' layers of fascia, the deeper layers that lie beneath and are closer to the spine around which the body is organized. The final four (4) are integration sessions, integrating your fascial patterns with how you move and live in the world so that the changes seep into your habits and become a part of how you experience your world.

Session 1
The Superficial Front Line

Terrritory: The tissue contacted is the superficial fascia on the front of the body- from the feet and ankles, up the shins and quads, connecting to your rectus abdominis and up the sternum to the front of the neck.

Goals and Intentions:

Expand the the breath fully in the front.

  Make space for future possibilities.

Lift the Superficial Front Line, creating an energetic uplift.

Unlock, open and free the front of the arm.

Questions and Awareness Exercises Before and After:

Bending backward- where are there restrictions in the body? In

  the breath?

Natural breathing. Where in the body does it begin? Where is it

being held? Is it easier to breathe in or breathe out?

Where do you feel lift in your body? Where do you feel pulled down?

How much time do you spend sitting or in a flexed position?

Session 2
The Superficial Back Line
